Get Ready for SpringFind Walks & Hikes

Scotland’s islands offer some of the most evocative walking experiences in the British Isles, where dramatic coastlines, ancient landscapes and strong local character combine to create unforgettable journeys on foot. From rugged sea cliffs and quiet beaches to heather-clad hills and mountain ridges, walking on the Scottish islands is about slowing down and immersing yourself in nature at its rawest and most beautiful.

The Isle of Skye is Scotland’s most iconic island, renowned for its otherworldly scenery and powerful sense of place. Walk beneath the jagged Cuillin peaks, follow coastal paths with sweeping views across the Sound of Raasay, and explore landscapes shaped by volcanic activity and centuries of Gaelic culture. Skye’s trails reveal a constantly changing backdrop of cliffs, waterfalls, sea lochs and open moorland, with wildlife and history never far away.

Often described as ‘Scotland in miniature,’ the Isle of Arran delivers remarkable variety within a compact island setting. Easily reached by ferry from the mainland, Arran blends gentle coastal walking with mountainous interior routes, including the ascent of Goatfell, the island’s highest peak. Quiet roads, forest paths and shoreline trails link welcoming villages, historic sites and rich geological features, offering a rewarding and accessible island walking experience.

Whether you choose the wild drama of Skye or the balanced landscapes of Arran, a walking holiday on Scotland’s islands promises scenery, solitude and a deep connection to the land.

Paddock to Plate

The paddock to plate concept is one we encourage by choosing to work with accommodations that source produce from local farms. This provides you with fresher meals and ensures your money directly assists local economies.
