The Via di Francesco or The Way of St Francis is an Italian Camino route inspired by the life of Saint Francis of Assisi.

The pilgrimage route follows an ancient Roman road linking Florence to Rome, via Assisi. Follow in the footsteps of St Francis, who trod this path often, as you walk along the most picturesque section of The Way of St Francis through eastern Tuscany and northern Umbria. This is the ‘green heart’ of Italy. These walking holidays take you through dense ancient forests, orchards, olive groves and lush fields of produce. The Via di Francesco route regularly passes hermitages, chapels and crosses dedicated to the saint and it’s not hard to imagine St Francis and the thousands of walkers and pilgrims after him wandering along this unique, spiritual and scenic Camino path in Italy.
