Hill Walks and Easier Alpine Hikes
Real Hills and Genuine Alpine Scenery, Graded for Confident Walkers
These are moderate-graded walking holidays that take you into proper hill and mountain country; ridgelines, high passes, alpine meadows and, on several routes, the edge of the Alps themselves.
In South Tyrol, the Chestnut Trail climbs by cable car onto the Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest alpine plateau, walking among the jagged peaks of the Dolomites before descending back through vineyards and chestnut woods. Bavaria's King Ludwig's Way rises from lakeside farmland through the limestone foothills that mark the start of the Alps proper. Closer to home, the West Highland Way climbs from Loch Lomond over open moorland to the foot of Ben Nevis, with the summit itself an option for the strongly motivated, while Offa's Dyke Path, the Dales Way and the Cumbria Way trace the ridgelines and fells of the England-Wales border, Yorkshire Dales, and the Lake District.
Walkers' Britain & Europe's moderate-graded trips are self-guided and fully supported, so walkers ready for real hills and genuine mountain scenery - British or Alpine - can take them on with luggage transfers, accommodation, a tailored navigation app and route notes already arranged.
