Spring Walking
Explore Britain & Europe in March, April & May
Spring is one of the most rewarding times to walk. The trails are quieter, the countryside is coming back to life, and the light has a clarity that is particular to the season. Across Britain and Europe, March, April and May bring some of the year's best walking conditions.
In the United Kingdom, spring wildflowers line the paths of the Cotswolds and the South Downs, the coastal trails of Cornwall and Northumberland feel fresh and unhurried, and the long-distance routes of Scotland and northern England open up as the days lengthen. It is the ideal time to walk before the summer crowds arrive.
In Europe, spring comes early to the south. Provence, the Algarve and the Canary Islands offer warm days and open trails from March onwards, while the vineyard regions of Burgundy and Alsace are at their most peaceful before the summer season begins.
Walkers' Britain & Europe has spring departures across Britain and Europe, from gentle introductory walks to iconic long-distance trails. Browse our spring selection below.
